has been giving 1-2-1 private computer training to mainly "silver surfer" beginners and those needing some confidence when thinking of returning to work.

All 1-2-1 lessons are tailor made, so YOU learn what YOU want to know at YOUR pace on YOUR computer. Rosie keeps jargon and techie talk to a minimum - why make things more confusing than necessary! Easy to understand "How to" handouts support all topics covered.

Realising that most older people simply want a computer to keep in touch with family and friends, I'll show you how to use Email and the Internet, for shopping and booking tickets. We'll look at using Microsoft Word or Works for creating letters and making labels for christmas cards and general good "housekeeping" and maintenance. 

The main thing is, Rosie will teach you with patience and humour, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Group Lessons

More recently, Rosie has been delivering "Get to Know your Computer" for the WEA (Workers Educational Association). This has been in a group environment of 5 or 6 learners, using the facilities provided by Raven Housing Trust and available to Raven Housing's residents in sheltered accomodation.

The lessons have been run over a term of 10 weeks at 2 hours a week. Some learners had never used a mouse and /or keyboard before but this is not a problem, we all start somewhere!

After just 10 weeks, some learners are so keen to learn more, they are in a confident position of wanting to have their own PC! Rosie is quite happy to advise and help with obtaining a computer suitable for your needs, and assisting with its set up.
